Apertura XXII Capítulo General

At the beginning, sr. Yolanda de Ma. Arriaga Ruballos, General Superior, enlights a candle as a sign of the Risen Jesus who will preside over our Chapter, and offers this light to every sister

The light is also a sign of our Venerable Father Founder, of our Blessed Martyrs Sisters that shed their blood as witnesses of the Gospel’s truth and of all the Capuchin Tertiary Sisters that preceded us spending their lives in the mission and helping our Congregation to grew up.

After a short celebration of God’s Word and before leaving the chapel, each Capitular sister pays a little homage on memory of r. Margarita Arana Baquedano who was elected as 2nd General counsellor in the XXI General chapter and died during her mandate, placing a rose in front of her picture.

On the floor of the capitular hall there is a compass as a symbol of the Holy Spirit that guides our Congregation and orientates our faith, prayer, and discernment. Its circular shape reminds us that we’ll discover God's will only looking at the reality from the different points of view of each sister and demarcation.

Entering the hall, before taking her place, each sister puts on the floor a small paper with two words, expressing which it will be her contribution Congregational event.
