“He felt sorry and went over to him” (Lk 10, 33-34)

During this first week the capitular assembly get a detailed information about the reality of the Congregation through the reports of the General Superior, Secretary and Treasurer as well of the Superior of each demarcation (provinces, vice provinces and delegation).

Every report reflects the life of the Congregation and of each demarcation and allows the sisters to enter for a while in the reality of the provinces, vice provinces or delegation and to contemplate in it God’s presence and the good witnessing of the sisters.

Acknowledging the importance of every report, we like to resume a little le general report presented by sr. Yolanda de Ma. Arriaga Ruballos, General Superior.

This document whose title is “Moved by compassion, we embrace the present and we project our future”, consists of five chapters, each of them illuminated by some parts of the parable of the Good Samaritan:

  1. Our way as General Government team: "Going down from Jerusalem to Jericho" (Lk 10,30); it includes all actions carried on during the last six years term.
  2. Reflection about the reality of the Congregation: "He felt sorry for him and had compassion" (Lk 10,33); it presents difficulties and challenges for the future.
  3. Proposals for the future, "Who is my neighbor? The one who had mercy with him. Go and do likewise"(Lk 10,36. 37); it proposes some objectives for next sexenium that the Chapter should discern.
  4. Statistical analysis of this administration: "He put him on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him” (Lk 10,34); it presents the statistical report as well the initiatives carried on by the General Secretary.
  5. The economy at the service of the fraternity and the poor: "He gave the innkeeper two silver coins and said, “Please take care of the man. If you spend more than this on him, I will pay you when I return” (Lk 10,35); it present the economic situation of the Congregation.

At the end of her report, Sr. Yolanda spends some heartfelt words of appreciation for the work of God in every sister of her Council and apologizes for their shortcomings and omissions and she ends her report reconfirming her trust in the Spirit that guides the Congregation at any time.

She reiterates her gratitude to all the sisters of the Congregation, the Commissions that have shared the work during the sexenium, the benefactors, the Amigonian Lay.

The capitular assembly replies her with a loud applause in attitude of gratitude to the General Government.

Once ended all the reports, the sisters studied them at a personal nivel and then they shares their reflection in groups and then in assembly
