ELECTION OF THE NEW GENERAL GOVERNMENT

Tuesday at 9.50 a.m , 28th of September, we had the nomination of Sr. Yolanda de María Arriaga Ruballos, as the Superior General of our Congregation.

As it was known, on the 29^th we proceeded to the election of the General Counsel. Both events were moments of the Spirit and without doubt your prayers were felt. The Spirit gives to us the persons we need in due time and circumstances.

Let us know some information about the New General Government:

Sr. Yolanda de María Arriaga Ruballos, General Superior.

She was born in Ipala Chiquimula, GUATEMALA, on the 22^nd of May 1958, she entered the Congregation in 1978. She did her First Profession on the 31^st of January 1981 and Perpetual Vows on the 26^th of December 1984.

She served in the field of Education, Pastoral work in the Parish and Pastoral for Vocation. In the Congregation she carried responsibilities as Postulant Mistress, Counselor for two terms in the Vice Province of Guatemala, Vicar of the General Vice Province of Central America, and Superior of the Vice Province of Central America for three years. Provincial Superior of the Province of Santa María de los Angeles of Central America for two terms. She was serving as a Junior Mistress before the nomination.

Sr. Yolanda is a sister who loves the Congregation and the sisters. She is simple, woman of discernment, she has a great and fine spirit, approachable, prudent, delicate and with great capacity to work in team, a good listener and companion.

 Sr. Tulia López Bedoya, First Counselor and Vicar General.

She was born in Versalles Valle, COLOMBIA, on the 20^th of October 1948, she had her First Profession on the 30^th of December 1973, and had her Perpetual Vows on the 2^nd of March 1980. She served the Congregation as a Teacher, Postulant Mistress, Junior Mistress, and Counselor of the Province for six years, Provincial Secretary for two terms and Provincial Superior of the Province of Santa María, in Colombia for another two terms.

Sr. Tulia is a spiritual sister, with a sense of belonging in the Congregation; approachable, simple, prudent, respectful, with great sense of co-responsibility and delegation of responsibilities, always in search of common good, careful in spiritual life and a good companion.

                                                 Sr. Margarita Arana Baquedano, Second Counselor

She was born in Navarra, SPAIN on the 7th of January 1942. She did her first Profession on the 4^th of October 1961 and Perpetual Vows on the 4^th of October 1964. In the Congregation she served at the center of the Protection of Minors, she was a Teacher; for twelve years she served in works of the Government as Counselor and Provincial Superior of the Province of the Immaculate, SPAIN.

Sr. Margarita is a sister who is approachable, with great capacity to listen and to work in team, intelligent, simple, prayerful, dutiful, available, open to the action of the of the Spirit, with a sense of belonging to the Congregation.

Sr. Aleyda Garcés Fernández, Third General Counselor

She was born in Armenia, Antioquia, COLOMBIA, on the 9^th of August 1954. She did her First profession on the 4^th of October 1976 and her Perpetual Vows on the 16^th of January 1982. In the Congregation she served in the area of Minors, in the Formation as Mistress of Postulants, Novices and Juniors. In the Government she was a Counselor of the Vice Province of Good Shepherd in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay for two terms and was a Vice Provincial Superior for six years. She was a General Counselor for these last six years of 2004-2010 and was responsible in Formation and Mission.

Sr. Aleyda is a transparent sister, honest, coherent, sensible, approachable, minor, simple, dutiful, with great capacity to listen, fine intuition, and with much experience in accompaniment.

Sr. Arelys Martínez Palacios, Cuarta Consejera General.

She was born in Tucupita, del Tamacuro, VENEZUELA, on the 18th of March 1958, she did her First Profession on the 23^rd of August 1981 and the Perpetual Vows on 28^th of October 1984. She served the Congregation in the field of Education, Pastoral for Vocation, Economy, Counselor for three terms, Vicar Provincial and Provincial Superior of the Province of St. Francis in Venezuela for one term.

Sr. Arelys is an approachable sister, fraternal, creative, simple, enterprising, joyful, optimist, and prayerful, good companion, clear in her criteria, hardworking. With great qualities and experience in the Pastoral for Vocation and orientation of youth.
