There are moments when challenges seem greater than our dreams. Many families live with uncertainty, facing poverty, malnutrition, limited opportunities, and hardships that make it difficult to imagine a different future. Yet hope never disappears when there are people willing to share with generosity and love.
The Luis Amigó Social Development Project (PRODESLA) was created to remind every child and every family that they are not alone. For the past 17 years, we have accompanied people living in vulnerable situations in the municipalities of Champerico, Totonicapán, and, more recently, Ipala, Guatemala, walking alongside them with compassion, respect, and commitment.
Thanks to the generous support of the Canadian organization CHALICE, hundreds of families have found new opportunities to build a more dignified future. Behind every program, every home visit, and every encounter lies a story of perseverance, hope, and transformation.
Every day we witness both small and great miracles: children who remain in school and discover the value of education; mothers who strengthen their self-esteem and develop income-generating skills; families who improve their nutrition and receive nutritional support; communities that learn to organize and work together; and individuals who find spiritual support and regain the confidence to move forward.
At PRODESLA, we believe that development goes far beyond material assistance. That is why we provide holistic support aimed at strengthening individuals, families, and communities. Through educational meetings with mothers, literacy programs, nutritional care, educational assistance, home visits, values-based formation, spiritual accompaniment, and opportunities for entrepreneurship, we walk alongside more than 1,300 sponsored children and their families, promoting lasting and meaningful change.
Every child’s smile, every mother who discovers her potential, every family that regains hope, and every community that moves forward together reminds us that when solidarity is put into action, lives can truly be transformed.
At the Luis Amigó Social Development Project, we continue to believe that every person has tremendous potential and deserves the opportunity to develop it. When someone extends a helping hand with love, a new hope is born. And when that hope is nurtured through support, commitment, and faith, it becomes a future filled with possibilities for those who need them most.
