August 9, 2026. As we begin the day, we place our lives in the hands of the Lord and continue to listen attentively to God’s whispers along our congregational journey. We continue to broaden our gaze, our minds, and our hearts in order to embrace the richness of who we are and what we do in every place where the Congregation is present, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us through the realities of our sisters and communities in each jurisdiction.
During the day, we contemplated the reality of the Congregation through a faith-filled reading of the realities of the different jurisdictions, presented by the General Government. This moment was led by Sr. Blanca Nidia Bedoya Salazar, Superior General, together with the General Councilors: Sr. Ma. Luisa García Casamian, Sr. María Anabelle Céspedes Morales, Sr. Bilma Narcisa Freire Chamorro, and Sr. Sonia de Fátima Marani Lunardelli.
Next, Sr. Luz Dary Montoya Toro, General Secretary, presented statistics concerning the Congregation’s presence in the different locations and the number of sisters in each jurisdiction. Sr. Helena Nogüeira da Costa, General Treasurer, in turn, offered an analysis of the economic situation of each jurisdiction and of the Congregation as a whole.
In light of the information shared, we devoted time to personal reflection and prayer, through which we contemplated the reality that had been presented. We were then invited to reflect more deeply on several questions that would later be shared during the “Conversations in the Spirit,” as a space for listening, discernment, and communion.
As this moment of the day came to a close, united in one voice, we raised our praise to God for all that He continues to provide and accomplish in us and through us.
