The International Day of Families is celebrated every year on May 15, in order to raise awareness of the role of the family in the education and formation of children from early childhood, as well as to promote family ties and family unity.
The origin of this important date dates back to the eighties. However, in 1994 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed this day official, taking into account that the family is the central nucleus of any society.
Since then, the International Day of Families has been an emblematic date to highlight the value of the family worldwide. Human beings depend on the family to achieve a healthy and complete integration in their environment and thus reach levels of coexistence, where the rules and norms that govern society are respected.
