The Colombian Guajira, where our sisters arrived in 1905, was the first mission destination outside Spain and, faithful to what Father Luis wrote in our first Constitutions, we are keeping alive, in our religious Family, the missionary spirit “ad gentes” and we are present in sectors de-Christianized or with incipient faith. Being the main objective of our mission, to accompany people in their searching God, and to manifest and announce to them the message of salvation of the Gospel, we attempt to do it following the example of Francis of Assisi, through the sign of our lifestyle, personal testimony and our experience of fraternity. With an attitude of minority and humility, we try to welcome each person respecting his culture and religiosity, discovering in him the presence of Christ and trying to adapt ourselves to the reality in which we live (cf. Dir. 48 and 49).
