15 August 2026. The day was marked by the presentation and approval of the new General Formation Plan, a document that brings together years of work, reflection and collaboration and seeks to guide the Congregation’s formation journey through a life centred on Jesus and an authentic charismatic and missionary commitment.
The meeting began with a grateful remembrance of the sisters who, over the years, have accompanied the early stages of formation and have left a significant mark on the sisters’ vocational journey. Remembering them also became an invitation to recognise that the vitality of the Congregation does not depend solely on the number of its members, but above all on the witness of their lives and their fidelity to the charism and mission.
The celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary also provided a particularly meaningful setting for the day. In the light of the Word of God, the participants were invited to recognise the wonders that the Lord continues to accomplish in their lives and amid the realities of the world.
The new General Formation Plan was presented by Sr Ma. Luisa García Casamian, Vicar General and Coordinator of the Congregational Formation Team. Following the presentation, the sisters were given time for personal reading and study of the document.
This was followed by “Conversations in the Spirit”, a process of listening and discernment that enabled the participants to explore the different aspects of the proposal in greater depth. The fruits of these conversations were shared in the plenary session, where various points requiring consideration, revision or inclusion in the document were discussed.
Sr Blanca Nidia Bedoya Salazar, Superior General, then took the floor to proceed with the approval of the Plan. Taking into account the observations raised and the aspects that will need to be revised or added, the General Formation Plan was unanimously approved.
The approval marks the culmination of a process involving several years of work, dedication and collaboration. During the day, particular recognition was given to the participation of sisters from the different administrative regions who contributed to the preparation of the document, as well as to the sense of belonging and commitment to the Congregation that accompanied the entire process.
Another significant moment of the day was the visit of the sisters from the Teresa de Jesús School in Fontibón, who came to greet the participants and share in the joy of meeting sisters from the different administrative regions. As an expression of welcome and fraternity, they presented each participant with a traditional Colombian gift, a gesture that was received with heartfelt gratitude.
The day concluded under the inspiration of the Magnificat of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as an expression of gratitude to God for the journey travelled and for the wonders He continues to accomplish in the life and mission of the Congregation.
