August 16, 2026. The day began with a moment of silent adoration before the Blessed Sacrament exposed, followed by a reflection on three key words inspired by the readings of the Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time: restore, dignity and hope.
With this spiritual disposition, the participants deepened their reflection on the Policy for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults, recognizing that, beyond being a regulatory document, it is an instrument that calls us to live the mission entrusted to us with greater responsibility, coherence, fidelity and commitment.
Sr. Sonia de Fátima Marani Lunardelli and Sr. Matilde de Jesús Mena Morena, members of the Congregational Commission, presented the work carried out in relation to this policy. Afterwards, the sisters were given time for personal reading and reflection.
During the afternoon, the “Conversations in the Spirit” took place, providing a space for listening, discernment and participation. At the conclusion, the secretaries of each group shared the main fruits of their conversations with the plenary assembly. This was followed by a time for dialogue, which culminated in the approval of the Policy for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults.
The day was also enriched by the joyful visit of the sisters from the community of Colegio María Inmaculada in Bogotá, who shared a fraternal moment with the participants of the Enlarged General Council. Their presence was a source of joy and encouragement and a tangible expression of closeness and communion as the work of the Council continues.
The journey shared throughout the day left the participants with a sense of fulfilment and, at the same time, renewed the challenge of responsibly embracing the commitment entrusted to each one. Grateful for God’s abiding presence in the midst of the community, the day concluded with the proclamation of the Magnificat of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
